“Affordable central London offices for not for profit organisations”

Mike Orlov is The Executive Director of The National Register of Public Service Interpreters (NRPSI), an independent not for profit organisation which vets and accredits interpreters. It supports the public sector’s responsibility to offer interpreters to non-English speakers when interacting with public services, such as hospitals and the police. Their services were key during the pandemic to communicate with ethnic groups about the need for self-isolation and vaccination.

The NRPSI’s team of 8 moved into LentaSpace Token House in 2017 and location was a key factor in the decision as it’s a London-centric organisation. Mike says, “Being a short walk from Bank and Moorgate tube stations is useful as our interpreters often visit to have their documentation verified for security checks. It’s great for the staff too, as they travel in from different directions.”

He adds that “Token House is well-served by at least 10 local cafes in walking distance for lunch, such as Alfredo’s who make great bacon sandwiches. Then of course there are two classic city pubs, The Telegraph and The Token House, both within a minute’s walk.”

As both a not for profit and a high-profile organisation the NRPSI has to balance an attractive office with the need to manage costs.   Mike points out that, “For our organisation, every touchpoint matters, because it affects our brand.  Our clients like that we are in the city and are blown away by the building. But it’s still affordable and as a not for profit we need to spend carefully. Token House works on both levels.”

As with every organisation Mike has had to think carefully about office needs and costs for the NRPSI recently. “Last year, during the financial pressures of lockdown, we were able to communicate openly with Gina, the Building Manager, about our need to drive down costs and she created a package for a slightly smaller space that suited us. It was thanks to her creativity that we’re still here and we’re delighted because it’s the home base of the National Register.”

“It’s important that our staff want to come back to the office after the pandemic and LentaSpace creates that atmosphere in their buildings. It’s the people that make the difference. There’s a sense that the Lenta team are part of our team – they are exceptional.”

LentaSpace Token House is at Token House Yard, 3 minutes’ walk from Bank underground station. It comprises fully serviced private offices, with meeting rooms and breakout spaces.
