Working in The City

We are pleased to bring you the fourth in our LentaSpace Location Guide blog series. Designed to give you a feel for what it’s like working in The City. The guide includes everything essential, from how long it will take you to travel to work to where to stop for coffee enroute. Plus, where to go for the best lunch, to buy that last minute birthday present and to gather with your work mates for post work drinks.

Transport Links

There are many transport links in the area, with Bank station just a three-minute walk away, Moorgate Station five minutes’ walk away and London Liverpool St. mainline station nine minutes away. So, you can commute direct from Colchester, Ipswich and Norwich. Air links are also great, with Stansted Airport just a 50-minute train journey from Liverpool St. Station.

Bus routes serving the Bank area include the 35, 40, 133, 149 and 141.

Shopping

Being in the heart of the City, there are many places to enjoy some retail therapy whether on your lunch break or even after a hard day at the office.

The One New Change is a shopping centre just 7 minutes’ walk away and, with shops like Next, M&S, Boss, Boots and more, you don’t need to look any further to find the perfect gift for a loved one, or yourself.

Coffee

If coffee is your weakness, then you are spoilt for choice with many independents and chains on offer.

The Ravello Coffee Co, is a family run small Italian chain offering an authentic feel and great fresh food and around the corner you have Black Sheep Coffee & Cocktails, where, not only can you get great coffee in the morning but you can return after work for a drink – perfect!

Places for lunch

Right on the doorstep, serving modern British meals and sharing plates, is The Tokenhouse, Moorgate. This is a classic London pub and restaurant which never leaves you disappointed.

A personal favourite is HOP Vietnamese – with a huge selection of Hot Boxes, Baguettes, Salads and Soups – there are not many places offering such a wide range of healthy and nourishing dishes at reasonable prices.

Post work drinks

After a long day in the office, why not unwind with great company and a few drinks at The Tokenhouse, Moorgate. With a constantly changing range, you’ll always be able to sample something new and interesting whether it’s a craft larger, seasonal ale, cider, spirit, artisan soft drink or even an exclusive wine.
