Working in Watford – LentaSpace London Location Guides

24th May 2023

We are pleased to bring you a new LentaSpace Location Guide, designed to give you a feel for what it’s like to work in Watford.  We have included everything essential   – how long it will take you to travel to work, where to stop for coffee enroute, where to go for the best street food at lunch, where to buy that last minute birthday present and finally,  where to gather with your work mates for post work drinks.

Transport Links

Watford enjoys good transport links into the centre of London, with regular direct trains from Watford Junction and Watford High Street  to London Euston taking around 50 minutes.

The town is also well served by major road routes, being just a  few minutes’ drive to join the M1 and around 10 minutes’ drive to the M25, allowing a good commute from  the all areas of North London and the surrounding home counties.

If you like to support local independent coffee places for your morning caffeine hit, try out Ocean Bells Coffee, 133 High St, who always have a guest coffee to try and will grind beans to order if you would like to take some home.

Café Bianco, 19-21 The Parade, an Italian family run café is another great option, especially if you wanted to pick up Italian pastries enroute or stop off for a full fry up.

The usual chains are also available in the centre of Watford, if you are loyal to a particular brand; Starbucks, Costa Coffee, Café Nero and Pret a Manger.

Places for lunch

If you work in Watford, there are plenty of lunch options away from the usual sandwich chains.  You could try Lebanese at Tarboush, 57 Market St, or sushi at Sushinomai, Watford Market, both offering eat in or takeaway.

Watford Shopping

You really are spoilt for choice for shopping options if you work around Watford.  In the centre of town The Atria Shopping Centre offers some great shopping with all of the usual high street brands, such as H&M, Boss, Hollister, M&S and Hotel Chocolat.

Watford also has a thriving Market, Watford Square, open Tuesday to Saturday, offering everything from fashion and haberdashery to fishmongers and street food.

After work

The Puttshack brand have a Watford outpost, popular for after work team gatherings as its set up for groups and offers not just a fun indoor mini golf experience, but food and drinks too.

If you are looking for a classic pub setting to gather with colleagues after work The Prince George , 151 St.Albans Rd, would be a safe bet, with its classic interior, beer garden and  great Trip Advisor food reviews.
