Tell us about your company

Kitt Medical are a young and exciting company on a mission.  They have created a multi-award winning Anaphylaxis Kitt service, which is – as their strapline best explains –  “Just like a defibrillator, but for allergies.”  The concept was born from a final year design degree project by co-founder and CEO Zak Marks, himself living with severe allergies. Due to the pandemic Zak found himself without a graduate job and with time on his hands to develop the idea further. So he created a website to showcase the concept and attract investors whilst exploring production options.

The Kitts – produced in Wales and housed in recycled plastic cases – include adrenaline pens and instructions for treating both children and adults. Kitt Medical’s service also includes training videos and quizzes which are CPD-accredited.  Their mission is to have a Kitt everywhere you would find a defibrillator, with their initial target being schools. To date, the Kitts are in 400 schools across all age groups in the UK, whilst more than 8,000 staff have received their training. At the time of writing they are just beginning to expand their service offering to qualifying businesses through occupational health, including office spaces, hospitality venues, retail locations, and leisure facilities.

Why did you take your first office?

“We launched the company from my bedroom in 2020,” said Zak,  “But we decided that we needed an office when we began to scale up operations and when Olivia, our 4th employee, joined our team full time in early 2024. Taking on the overhead of an office is a big step for a new business but it felt like we had reached that maturity point.”

Why did you choose LentaSpace Kings Cross to base your team?

For a team who have invested so much time in developing their product down to the last detail,  searching for an office demanded just as much energy.  “The location was really important – for us it had to be Kings Cross as its so easy to commute to and central for our investors to visit.  We looked at a lot of offices but LentaSpace was the best location; the reception team are lovely, the office just the right size, it’s clean and has great shared facilities, including breakout space and the all important bike rack.”
