Lara Giuliana Gouveia Simonetti is the founder and Director of Larianae Notaries, a multi-lingual notary service which specialises in verifying, authenticating and recording key documents.  They work for individuals and businesses who need to provide identification documentation to overseas officials.  Clients range from couples seeking to get married, for example, or setting up power of attorney, to multinational corporations ranging from major banks to global pharmaceutical companies, for example managing inter-country staff moves.

Why did you choose LentaSpace Strand to base your business?

We moved to Thanet House in April 2022, from another flexible workspace provider. I was looking for a professional space with a full-time onsite reception team, so that I knew that communication would be good, my clients would be professionally greeted and my post securely handled.

I found LentaSpace through a broker, who after listening to my requirements, felt sure that Thanet House would suit me as he had placed several previous clients here happily. Being in the centre of London’s legal district wasn’t actually top of my list but it makes sense to my clients and adds prestige to my business.

We also wanted an office space that we could make our own.  We’ve hung pictures on the wall, added a meeting table and book cases and a Nespresso machine.  So, it feels like home now.

What works for you about Thanet House?

The nature of my business as a notary means that I sometimes have clients arriving unannounced expecting to speak to me.  The reception team here deal with this so kindly and professionally that any visitor feels welcomed – they are like an extension of my team. The systems are also good here as I instantly receive an email to tell me that a guest has arrived.

For legal companies like ourselves, having a secure postal system is really important as we are frequently sending personal documents. As I am not in the office every day, I often leave post with the reception team overnight for collection the following day and I know that they will be securely stored and safely sent. That trust and professionalism is really important for my business. Similarly, the team is also very data privacy aware – when post arrives incorrectly addressed, they are discreet in enquiring where it should go and are conscious of legal privilege.

As a small business we also really appreciate the social events which the team here organise.  It creates a welcome break sometimes and a sense of fun and being part of the building community.
